Dear reader,
this site Jakob writes came to be as a portfolio website to showcase my work and writing samples. I originally planned to host a blog externally on Medium, but when I found this great WordPress theme Independent Publisher, I instantly liked its look and layout (inspired by Medium) and decided to include the blog here on the site. I’m still tweaking the functionality and looks to my liking, but the basics are there. I also need to add a lot more portfolio items.
Interestingly enough, when I applying for full-time corporate or office jobs, I never had an online portfolio; I always sent a few selected and relevant writing samples along with a job application. The job offers came, but since I am now back to working freelance, I will focus more on literary and non-fiction work in the projects I take on. If you’re interested in what I do, check our my past experience or the services I offer.
I plan to use this blog to write about things that interest me and which are loosely writing-related; don’t expect more than one post per week. Any feedback is always welcome, so contact me, connect with me on LinkedIn or follow me on any social channel of your choice.
